There was a time when PDAs were the hottest product that a person could own. While the technology involved was a but rough, it was still one of the earliest forms of touch screens. Of course, there were still parts of the technology that really only worked with specific tools. Over time though, people got used to the tech, and there are also many different advantages to some of those tools. Case in point, the stylus, which made you screens cleaner and kept scratches to a minimal. So, the guide today is about how to make an Android Stylus. You might be surprised that you won’t need to pay for any tool at all.
Considering the pricey stylus
While there are several ways to make a home made stylus, sometimes these tools are designed to make the best of your Galaxy Notes or iPads. There are ton of different companies that offer a third party solution to your problem, but sometimes, going for manufacturer brand is the way to go. For example; the Samsung S Pen Stylus is great when you combine it with the Galaxy Note 2. It allows for exploitation of the screen, and at the same time, reduces the risk of damage to the screen. However, third party products can also be good options; like the Incipio products, which are preferable for sketching and drawing. Overall, for a more diverse experience, or a more accurate one, the best option in your arsenal is to check out the many different Styluses on sale.
Making a Stylus of your own
While buying a great stylus is an awesome idea, working on a budget means that you run out of options pretty quickly. At the same time, there’s a huge chance that you can lose that thing, or actually mistake it for a ball pen. In all these situations, losing one of those pricey little pens will be heavy on your wallet, especially if you compound that with multiple losses. There is a way you can make a homemade version yourself though.
So if you really want a stylus without shelling out $30 for top of the line products, there is sill the alternative of making one yourself. It’s actually very simple to make one, and it won’t cost you much to make one of your own. First off, you’ll need three different products; the first being a cheap ballpoint pen, the second is some thin wire, which is still rigid enough to shape, and finally, a sponge with the two sides.
The first step is to make a tiny hole near the head of the pen itself. Once that’s done, cut a relatively small piece of sponge, which won’t slip out of the head when you put it in the pen itself. Cut a 5-6 inch length of the wire so that it won’t be too long. Wrap the wire on the smallest edge of your tiny sponge, and wrap it well enough so that your screen will respond to it. Remember that hole you had to make through the pen? Well know you have to take the excess of the wire and thread it through the tiny hole. Wrap that excess around the head of the pen, and there you have your stylus. In order to make this whole thing work though, you have to make sure that your fingers are always touching the wire wrapped on the head of the pen itself. So that’s the simplest method by which you can make an Android stylus, overall though, the best idea is to way all your possible options before you do anything on your own.
